June 2022 Workshop
Kelly Herrick gave a fun filled workshop on painting expressive landscapes in acrylics. The natural world is her biggest inspiration. Using warm up exercises about choosing composition and creating drama through bold colour and light, Kelly gave the confidence to simplify. She taught the value of loose composition at the beginning of painting. Details can be added later, like salt to a meal. Kelly also demonstrated the imaginative use of stencils and bubble wrap to encourage our creativity

July Workshop 2022
Amanda Webster: gave a delightful portrait in oils demonstration and workshop. She shared her philosophy to experiment and question everything, especially rules! Throughout the day she shared her tips for achieving appropriate colours, tones, pose of the sitter and the artist maintaining their same position too. Members at the workshop enjoyed a positive critique of their portraits at the end of the day.

May Workshop
Lin Cheung: Our May all-day workshop with guest abstract artist Lin Cheung was very different and thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended. Lin led us from how to get started to knowing when to stop. She also provided us with excellent advice on materials, equipment, brushes and techniques as well as reminding us to paint for ourselves in our own styles.
