Louise Janetta showed us a range of techniques to use in Intaglio Printing. Members were treated to an all day workshop which saw us produce a series of nature-inspired prints. A messy but fun day!

Portraits of the Queen
To help celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, members of the group displayed their portraits of the monarch in All Saints Church in Matlock.
Lin Cheung: Our May all-day workshop with guest abstract artist Lin Cheung was very different and thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended. Lin led us from how to get started to knowing when to stop. She also provided us with excellent advice on materials, equipment, brushes and techniques as well as reminding us to paint for ourselves in our own styles.
April Workshop 2022
CATHERINE INGLIS: Delighted us with her morning demonstration of an Animal Portrait of a cheetah in Soft Pastels. Members created some great work during the afternoon workshop.
Catherine is a member of the Society of Women Artists and works predominantly in soft pastels. Her work covers a wide variety of subjects but specialises in pet and family portraiture. https://www.cathinglis.com
RICHARD KITSON: Lead a great Portrait in Mixed Media Workshop where we learned some useful and interesting new techniques. Richard is primarily known for his portraiture and figurative works, which mostly depict family members and friends. Richard’s work is underpinned by a training in academic and life drawing. He is inspired by artists such as Rembrandt van Rijn, Lucian Freud, Euan Uglow and David Hockney. https://www.richardkitson.co.uk
Everyone was especially delighted to get back together for our first Workshop of the New Year. We were kept very busy by Pam Smart and her 'Mark Making in Drawing' Workshop. Pam, is a specialist teacher of Art and Design and takes inspiration from the natural and built environment, painting in striking colours. She helped us expand our creative toolbox with an exciting range of drawing techniques. https://www.pamsmart.co.uk
